About:

Motstøy is a non-alcohol rock/metalfestival that was founded by a couple of youth in Notodden in 2002. It is a non-commercial organization where all work is voluntary. All profits are used to expand the festival, which is growing bigger and bigger every year.

Accomodation:

We offer cheap accommodation in classrooms at Notodden Vgs, Tinnes. The school is close to the festival, and lies in the upper part of the main street (Storgata) in Notodden. Please study the Motstøy-map on the website on beforehand, so you are able to find your way during the festival. Follow signs to find the way. Toilettes and showers are available at the school. Bring something soft to lie on and a sleeping-bag.

Location:

Notodden is located in the lovely county of Telemark, Norway. It is a small, pleasant town with lots of beautiful nature and cultural history.

Travel:

Notodden is approximately a 2 hour drive outside of Oslo. There are direct bus lines leaving every hour from Oslo Airport (Gardermoen)/Oslo Bussterminal to Notodden. You also have the opportunity to fly in from Bergen to Notodden Airport or take a train from Porsgrunn, Skien or Nordagutu.
